FIN 594 Behavioral Finance

The purpose of this course is to provide an understanding of the behavioral biases and their effects on financial markets. This course has two building blocks: limits to arbitrage, where we study what prevents smart traders to correct mistakes of other investors; and psychology/investor sentiments, which catalogues the kinds of deviations from full rationality we might expect to see. A number of stock market anomalies as well as viability of trading strategies based on behavioral anomalies will be presented and analyzed.
